Life After the Simfected

Updated: Jun 16

The Simfected Save

In a time, not so long ago a new virus caused a world-wide epidemic, it is said that it started in Strangerville at a secret lab and was known as “the rage.” Then a young scientist by the name of Vidcund Curious created a vaccine but unfortunately, this vaccine caused side effects that could not be reversed. As Simciety crumbled new kinds of Sims rose from the rubble, factions formed, and Sims started to rebuild.

Welcome to the world of The Simfected aka The Simfection Save.

Willow Creek - The Swamp

After the sickness, the big southern style mansions and small mobile homes were reclaimed by the water, turning Willow Creek into a swamp. Parts of Willow Creek has had power fully restored thanks to hydro-electricity and water is not an issue.

In Crawdad Quarter you’ll find the Froggo people. Said to have been created when a Sim, right after getting vaccinated ate frog legs, these aquatic dwellers love to spend time in the swamp. They are the guardians of the delicate swamp eco system. You better not try and catch wild frog as that is strictly forbidden unless you make friends with them. Once a year, all Froggos come together at the Crawdad Festival to sing for each other and fall in love. It is said that when your perfect mate hears your call, nothing can stop them from being together. Froggos are shy Sims that keep to themselves and have many strange traditions but if you have a hankering for gumbo stew, you best get down to Crawdad Quarter. Due to the nature of their living space, Froggos are completely off the grid and don’t like technology.

It's time for the Crawdad festival when Froggos or Mud people as some call them, come together to find love. Froggos live longer then most, some say it's the magic in the mud. They tend to the weeping willows, protect the crawdads and look after the tadpoles untill they become toddlers. Some say they are decendants of the Bayless family, must be the ears and Sunflower hopes Muddy will return her song. And then there is the orphan Sim raised by Mud. First ever non-Froggo to live in the swamp.

Foundry Cove and Courtyard Lane is home to average hardworking Sims. Buildings here are rundown or completely reclaimed by the swamp, you’ll have to renovate a bit. Power is only available from 6pm to 12pm.

Pendula View and Sage Estates is filled with old southern mansions. Power here is fully restored and only the oldest richest families live here like descendants of the Goth family. The Goth manor is still standing.

When the great sickness passed, the Kilpatricks became very rich. Living in the biggest mansion in The Swamp, Cliff is know as the baron because the Kilpatricks are hated and feared. They take land from poor Sims and build houses for rich Sims. Now he has his eye set on the Crawdad Festival grounds. His sweet wife Pearl wants to save the park but it might cost her everything including the man she loves. Can her love soften Cliff's heart?

One of those rich families are the Kilpatricks. When the great sickness passed, the Kilpatricks became very rich. Living in a big southern mansion in Willow Creek, Cliff is know as the baron not because Sims like his family but because the Kilpatricks are hated and feared. They take land from poor Sims and build houses for rich Sims. Now he has his eye set on the Froggos park. His sweet wife Pearl wants to save the park but it might cost her everything including the man she loves. Can her love soften Cliff's heart?

Oasis Spring aka Dustbowl

Oasis Spring turned into a ghost town after the virus, with no power and very little water you’ll only find the most hardy or poorest of Sims living here or Sims that are not exactly of this world. They’ve adopted the old west values of working hard and not giving up and dress accordingly but with a bit of a Dune twist.

Grumpy has two loves in his life, gems and a dog named Plugger. He digs for gems so much that the gem dust turned his face silver. Nobody knows his real name but folks like to call him Star Man. When he's not prospecting, he's on his porch yelling at Sims to "get off my claim!" He only goes into town to sell gems and play cards but he is good friends with the Sand People as they often trade with him. But sometimes, late at night, Grumpy looks to to moon and wishes he had someone.

Bedrock strait has no water or power. Sims usually travel to the nearby saloon for good food, a hot bath and maybe having some luck at the card’s tables. Fishing and prospecting are how these sims earn money

Meet the Sand People of Oasis Springs. Cow plant ranchers, dust bunny farmers and miners, these harden Sims can survive the heat, have an eye for minerals and seem to whisper to deadly cow plants. Most Sims avoid the Sand People as hygiene is not really a thing for them. They don't mind living in shanty towns and like to dumpster dive. Other’s trash are their treasures. Once a week they go to the gem dealer and general store to sell their goods and head over to the saloon for a bath. Sand People like to party and care deeply for others even if others don't care for them. They love animals and children but both tend to behave badly as these hard-working Sims let them run around wild.

Parched Prospect has no power but does have water in the early mornings and late afternoons thanks to the wells that were dug. Sims that live here are farmers but due to limited water, can only grow certain crops.

Mirage Canyon is the heart beat of this town. Here you will find the saloon, general store, school house (library) and travelers camping ground.

Skyward Palms is where the town mayor and other high society folks live. Here power and water are no problem and neither is money.

Acquisition Butte is where Sims from the stars live. In the middle of the great virus, a ship crashed here but before these visitors could be discovered things took a turn for the worst in the fight against the virus. They could never repair their ship but they have been working a very long time on a new one and hope to return home someday. They keep to themselves. Once you make friends with these sims, you can help them repair their ship and visit their homes on Sixam and Batuu. This is also where you'll find The Tribe, the original people of this land. They've helped the sky people since the crash and because of the advance medicine that the sky people brought with them, people of the tribe never got sick and still don't.

In Dustbowl, there might be another reason besides the virus that created the ghost town. In the middle of town stands Ford Apache and when sandstorms roll in, locals make a run for the ford because with these storms come the worms, said to be able to swallow a whole house and making mining very dangerous for those who don't know and understand the worms. It's said the sand people have a way with these worms and even worship them.

Newcrest aka Pleasantville

Thanks to the community coming together, Newcrest came out of the epidemic just fine but the “founders” were not happy with the way Sims lived and behaved before the great sickness. So, they started over, in the 1950’s. Here you will find suburban homes of all sizes, bowling alley, restaurants, bars, dance clubs and a church. Sims here are followers of The Worship of The Watcher faith and attend church every Saturday and have outdoors family day on Sundays. Sims dress modest, don’t get too close before they are married and teens enjoy nights out at the drive in but under strict supervision of course. Sims here live a peaceful but strict live so behave yourself. They do not trust nor welcome supernatural Sims so best keep that something “special” about yourself under wraps.

Karen dreams of being the next Franny Cradock & is writing her first cookbook but with a out of control household, her dream is fading. Husband Dusty goes fishing & is never home (everyone knows he's just sneaking off to drink fizz & nap) teen son Max says he's joining the Hunter Army but Karen wants her son to become a doctor & youngest Jenny likes to blow things up & is terrorizing the neighbourhood. Hardly a perfect family if you want to be famous.

Dotty was sure she met her Mr. Right in Nic back when she was a science major and Nic was a up & coming Uptown moneyman. She left school & married him in hope of starting a family but as time goes on, Dotty is starting to suspect Nic might not share her dreams of a big family, that she might only be arm candy and that, worst of all, she's not the only woman in his life. She doesn't want to give up on the man she loves but if he doesn't change, there's no telling what she might do. Dotty's roses are the talk of the town but this summer, they might get a new brand fertilizer called "No-Good-Husband".

Dalton has got his first real break as a journalist writing a big piece for the Pleasantville Times about the Preachers but making a enemy of such a powerful family was a bad idea & suddenly Dolton is sent to cover the war in the Deadlands. His wife Elsie is ready to start a family but her husband will leave soon. She knows she'll be on her own raising the kids but she can't imagine a greater joy than being a mother and having a piece of Dalton nearby when he's so far.

Most of the towns funding goes to the army base where infected slayers are trained and keep the town safe.

Sarge's squad was overrun by infected while trying to secure the Strangerville facility after the outbreak. He had to put down some of his men who turned & ended up the sole survivor of the mission. He's been a infected slayer ever since. Haunted by the events of his past, he trains new recruits & he plans to take back the world. Pilot Remington, scout Audrina & explosives expert Raine all survived the Deadlands & would do anything Sarge says even if it's clear he's gone mad.

Magnolia Promenade aka Party Town

Here you can find Sims that can speak to the dead, tell you your future and are not worried about things that go bump in the night. Masked parties, beads being thrown from the balconies and a rich voodoo tradition at night but when the sun comes up, you’ll see children laughing and playing in the street. This place is protected by the Voodoo Queen, has power and water fully restored and has the best club around for Sims to dance their worries away.

The people of Party Town survived because the sprits protected them after Mama Breaux communed with them. Since then, the first-born girl of the Breaux family is the one to live in The House of Spirts and commune with those who crossed over to protect their clan. The clan is close knit and makes money telling fortunes, card games and hosting the best parties. Abella is so busy being Queen Voodoo to her people that she doesn't notice how deeply in love her butler is with her and in fact, she loves him too. But the women in her family do not pick their husbands, the sprits do. Breaking tradition might anger the spirts but not following your heart might lead to a lifetime of unhappiness. Heavy is the head that wears the sacred red feather.

Queen Voodoo: When the great sickness came Abella's people survived because the spirits protect them. Since then every first born woman in her family has been the leader of the tribe in Party Town. Telling fortunes and selling healing herbs is one way this tight knit community makes money. Abella is so busy looking after the tribe, she doesn't notice her devoted butler is deeply in love with her & danger is coming. But she must marry a man picked by the spirits.

Voodoo King: Baptiste Tembo has never liked the Laveau women standing as head of the tribe or how Party Town is run. Reading fortunes and hosting carnivals is pathetic when they have the power to rule. He might be blind but he can clearly see the future of Party Town under his rule where the tribe will no longer hustle for a living but be powerful . What he doesn't know is that it's the night walkers that will soon force this tribe to come together or lose it all. Pelagie is his eyes & caretaker.

Windenburg aka Udderburg

Thanks to the wind farms, Widenburg has power and enough water for all kinds of farming. Sims enjoy a day out to the farmers market in Lykke Centre where they can find all kinds of shops. This town turned to a genre of science fiction known as steampunk that has a historirical setting and features steam power rather than advance tech to get them through the sickness. Some Sims did not agree with this, believing they should focus on nature and living in harmony with it. They broke away from Udderburg and moved to The Crumbling Isle and became Cult of The Cowplant. To be a part of this crazy group, Sims have to survive being eaten by a cowplant. The town tries to keep this a secret.

Cult of The Cowplant :To be one with nature, you need to absorbed by nature...swallowed. These Sims are nature worshipers & focus on protecting & understanding nature. Cowplants embody the mysteries of Mother Nature & to truly be accepted you have to be eaten & survive. To worship is to garden & practice wellness & reject technology.

Cowplant Botanist: Ryo is the cult cowplant breeder. It's his job to make sure there is a new holy cowplant ready to go for initiation ceremonies should the current holy one pass on. He believes cowplants are very sensitive to energy so it's forbidden to go near his farm.

San Myshuno aka Techno City

The city of the future. While the world fell apart, San Myshuno propelled its self into the future with experts of every field coming together to not only save the city but to save the world and to form a new world government. The city is filled with scientists, doctors, politicians, inventors, engineers, trendsetters and artists. In this ultra-modern city, it isn’t strange to see servos running errands as every house has one. Just don’t wander around the Spice Market at night, it’s a rough part of the city and there are stories of mutant raccoons as big as a Sim.

While the rest of SimNation hardly has power or water, Techno City has sent it's first spaceship to discover other worlds. Transmission received shows everything is going well.

"Captains log: My first mission as Captain. With me is Doctor Amara, a woman that will break your nose and then fix it. Engineer Andy, if your going to dress someone in foil and send them into a engine it might as well be Andy. Tech320, a bit cold and hard to talk to but he knows about every species in the galaxy and all their customs. He does stare at my butt a lot. Private Battle, our chief of security, he's been in every war his star system had and yet I find he can still amuse himself with yarn."

Forgotten Hallow aka The Asylum

The vaccine made some Sims highly sensitive to UV rays and gave them an extreme thirst for plasma. Scientist say it’s because plasma contains high levels of vitamin D that a Sim would normally get from being in the sun. These afflicted Sims were isolated in Forgotten Hallow by Dr. Brummel who tried to find a cure for them as many went mad and the only “normal” Sims you will see is young caretakers that run errands and take care of things during the day. Because of the old mansions and medical testing that went on in Forgotten Hallow, it was given the name The Asylum. There are Sims that believe these Night Walkers are evil sims with mystical powers, not to be trusted or to go near. Be warned, when the sun goes down, the inmates run The Asylum.
